We had an amazing treat a couple of weeks back. We had discovered seven Monarch butterfly cocoons on our front porch. They were on the backs of our chairs, in our artificial ficus tree and a couple were on the eaves of the house. At first, I did not know what they were! They were such a beautiful teal/turquoise color with specks of gold in them. At first, I thought they looked like pendants for a necklace! After some internet searching, I found out what they were and we watched daily in anticipation for them to open and reveal the beautiful creatures we knew awaited inside. It took a couple more weeks from the time we found them until they opened. As you can see, they are a true wonder. For me, it was a great reminder of how we, as humans, are just lowly caterpillars that, once we ask Christ into our hearts, He takes us and make us into new, beautiful creatures.
